Isa is the freeze in its purest form — the rune of stillness that becomes entrapment when it outlives its protective function. The session documented Feliks's freeze response with clinical precision: he slows, quiets, becomes hyper-careful in the presence of a woman's ambiguous need. This is Isa operating not as conscious chosen stillness but as automatic structural ice — installed in Kazan, running in the present. The rune is not condemning this — Isa also holds the capacity for concentrated will and self-preservation. The question Isa poses: is this stillness chosen or compelled? Once this week, when you notice yourself slowing and quieting in the presence of someone's unspoken need — don't immediately move or act. But consciously choose to stay still for ten seconds rather than having the stillness happen to you. Notice the difference between 'I froze' and 'I paused.' Isa asks you to know the difference. Hold the rune in your left hand when you do the Ilai position practice — let the cold be conscious. You think the ice protects you. It does. I'm not going to lie to you about that — the ice kept a boy alive in Kazan when moving would have cost him. But here's what you're not seeing: you're not in Kazan. The ice doesn't know that. It just keeps running its old program, and you have dressed it in a philosophy about adults and direct requests so that it looks like wisdom instead of what it is — a boy who learned that the safest way to exist near a woman's chaos was to become a very still, very precise, very unreachable object. I love that boy. He was smart. But you're thirty-six now, and the ice has gotten so well-organized that it comes with footnotes. That's the part that amuses me. The freeze with footnotes. Mannaz is the rune of the self in relationship — the fully human, the self that can only come into being through genuine encounter with the other. The session's most significant moment was the Ilai fantasy: Feliks immediately knew the model of healthy masculine he'd want to give his younger self, but the exercise revealed he cannot yet inhabit that model while in contact with Katya's reality. The 'confident, tall' body state collapsed into grief and helplessness the moment he looked at the actual relationship. Mannaz asks: who is the Feliks who can be present in contact without either merging or disappearing? Манназ — руна себя в отношениях, полностью человеческого, себя, которое может возникнуть только через подлинную встречу с другим. The Ilai position you stood in today — confident, tall — is Mannaz. Practice returning to it while imagining someone else's presence in the room. Not Katya specifically, just someone. Notice whether the body state holds or collapses. This is the Mannaz work: the self that can stay itself while another person exists in its space. You know exactly who you want to be. You said it out loud today: empathy without sacrifice, giving without taking from yourself, knowing where you are. That's a complete description of a man. And you arrived at it in about twenty seconds when Tasha asked. That's not a small thing. The problem isn't that you don't know — the problem is that as soon as a real person enters the room, the description evaporates and the old programs take over. I've shape-shifted enough to tell you: the gap between who you know yourself to be and who shows up in contact is where all the interesting work lives. You're not lost. You're just not yet at home in your own body when someone else arrives. Ты точно знаешь, кем хочешь быть. Othala is the rune of ancestral inheritance — what is passed down through the blood and the family system. The session went directly into this material: the constellation work mapped the executioner/victim dynamic that Vladik and Irka embodied, connected it to mother and Maxim, and Tasha named the repetition syndrome explicitly. Feliks received this intellectually but blocked the somatic recognition. Othala is not abstract — it is the actual patterning running in his nervous system: the grandfather's distant emotional unavailability that looked like respect, the mother's provocations that taught him chaos is feminine, the father's complete absence that made self-fathering the only option. The Ilai fantasy is also Othala: the search for a healthy ancestral masculine model to give the young Feliks is a healing gesture toward the inherited lineage. Sit with the image of the young Feliks — the one you wanted to hug today. Give him Ilai not as a concept but as a specific scene: where are they, what is Ilai doing, what does the young Feliks feel in his body. Stay with the scene for two minutes. This is not therapeutic fantasy — this is ancestral healing work. You are the adult in this lineage now. You can retroactively give the younger self what was missing. Here's what I find genuinely moving about you, Feliks — and I don't say 'moving' lightly, because I've watched gods and heroes and I am not easily impressed. You looked at the young boy who had a frozen grandfather, a chaotic Maxim, an absent father, and your first impulse was to hug him and send him someone better. That's not nothing. That is a man interrupting his own lineage. The grandfather didn't do that. The father didn't do that. You are sitting in America with a spinal cord surgery scar and a business and a rune practice and a therapist you've seen for four years, and you are trying to reach back through time and give a boy in Cheboksary something he never had. That's the Othala rune working through you, not on you. The question is whether you'll let that same impulse reach forward — toward the Feliks who is alive right now, not just the one in the memory. The Rune Руна

Algiz is the upraised hands, the antlers of the elk, the sedge grass whose edges cut anyone who grabs it carelessly. It is protection — but not armored, defensive protection. It is the protection that comes from being in right relationship with what is larger than you: the higher self, the divine, the forces that move through you when you are aligned. The group's teaching: 'falling into the hands of Algiz' — the moment when you have done everything possible and allow Higher Forces to lead. The elk was one of the most powerful animals in Northern Europe — fast, enormous, dangerous, with antlers that look like raised hands in the gesture of invocation or protection. Algiz connects to the Valkyries in some interpretations — the divine guardians who chose who lived and who died on the battlefield. Protection here is not passive: it requires worthy action first. The protection comes to those who have lived rightly, not to those who simply ask for it. Also: paranoia disguised as spiritual protection, seeing threats everywhere and requiring constant spiritual shielding. Algiz practice has two movements. First: do what is yours to do — take the action, hold the boundary, do the work. Second: release the outcome. The protection is in the completeness of your action combined with the letting go of control over results. Today: name one place where you are holding onto control of an outcome you have already done your part in. Release it to Algiz. Практика Альгиза имеет два движения. The story of Idunn's rescue is Loki's clearest Algiz moment. Idunn — the keeper of the apples of immortality — had been taken to Jötunheim because Loki had betrayed her. The gods began to age without the apples. When they found out what had happened, they confronted Loki: fix it or die. He borrowed Freya's falcon cloak, flew to Þjazi's hall, transformed Idunn into a nut, and carried her back. Þjazi in eagle form gave chase. The gods lit a ring of fire around Asgard; the eagle flew through and burned. Loki — the one who caused the crisis and the one who fixed it — used borrowed power (the falcon cloak), genuine courage, and precise action to protect what was most essential: the immortality of the gods. That is Algiz through the trickster: protection from intelligence and capability, not from virtue. История спасения Идунн — самый чёткий момент Альгиза у Локи.
